Calculate in Excel

Do you know how to calculate in Excel? In this blog I explain how to calculate in Excel using symbols and formula.

The calculating tools

When calculating in Excel we use:

  • = When we start in een cel in Excel with this symbol, Excel knows we are going to calculate.
  • + When we use this symbol in Excel, Excel knows we are going to add up.
  • – When we use this symbol in Excel, Excel knows we are going to deduct.
  • * When we use this symbol in Excel, Excel knows we are going to multiply.
  • / When we use this symbol in Excel, Excel knows we are going to divide.

Thes symbols are used in combination with numbers and the = sign in Excel.

Examples of calculating in Excel

Calculate in Excel

To calculate 101+102, You go stand in cel A3. And put in =101+102 and then you use Enter. After enter the result will be given in cel A3 and in the formula bar the calculation.
